Every year, since XVIII century, during the Holly Week thousands of Polish Catholics from all over the Poland go on pilgrimage to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - the mystic place where The Passion Play takes place. The night before the Great Friday and staging of the Via Crucis, some of them spend in the temple praying, singing ritual songs and meditating. Mostly they have only a coat to cover themselves and small prayer book. Sometimes they are such tired that they simply fall to sleep in the same place where they were praying a while ago. In the mystic atmosphere the faithful contemplate suffering of Jesus who died on the cross almost 2000 years ago to atone for their sins.
